The Dresden Codex is a manuscript dating from pre -Columbian times and which is original from the Maya civilization of the Yucatan peninsula. Somehow the document found it’s way to Vienna back in the 1700′s where it has been bought by the director of the Dresden Library of that time, Johann Christian Götze.
